Description

The large emission nebula Sh 2-86 contains the open cluster NGC-6823 and the small emission nebula NGC-6820.  NGC-6823 was first identified by Herschel in 1785 and NGC-6820 subsequently by Marth in 1864.  Sharpless first listed the home nebula in his catalog published in 1959.  The data were collected at the Sierra Remote Observatory on a CDK-14 owned by Tim Triche.  Linda Thomas-Fowler and Chris Kagy set up the acquisition parameters in N.I.N.A. and I processed the data using Astropixel Processor, PixInsight and Adobe Lightroom Classic.
